Davis is a small, unique, university and family town that sits about 10 miles west of Sacramento. It is home to about 65,000 people. There are many family activities from Wed night Farmer's Market, UC Davis Picnic Day Parade in the Spring, Mondavi Center, great restaurants. There are over 50 miles of bike paths you can enjoy that will take you all over Davis. Downtown hosts free Friday night concerts during the summertime. You can stay cool in the summer by going to the city pools with slides, diving boards and fountains. Children can enjoy trick or treating at the downtown businesses and a children's holiday parade with a visit from Santa.

Sacramento and Sacramento area (Elk Grove, Folsom, Roseville)
The capitol of our state is located about 2 hours northeast of San Francisco and 1 ½ hours west of Lake Tahoe. The Sacramento area is one of the fastest growing community's in the state. It is home to roughly 460,000 people and nearly 2 million in the metropolitan area (Elk Grove, Roseville, Rocklin, Natomas).
There are a variety of annual events for families to look forward and choose from. Sacramento is home to the California State Fair, Gold Rush Days, Jazz Jubilee, Free Museum Day just to name a few.
Recreation is a huge part of the Sacramento area. Families can enjoy a day on the Sacramento or American river, Folsom Lake, The Delta, or sail and windsurf in Lake Natoma. If you're a fisherman, you can spend the day fishing for steelhead or salmon. There are over 1,000 mile of waterways and 120 parks in the area. Sacramento is home to the King's and Monarch's NBA basketball teams and The Rivercat's AAA baseball team. For the golfer's, there are over 540 acres of fairways and green's. Kids will enjoy visiting the Zoo or water parks, or riding the train in Old Town. There are also many world class restaurants to choose from. For the shopper, you can chose from hundreds of one-of-a-kind boutiques to the many shopping malls. Families can enjoy learning the history of Sutter's Fort or visiting many of the museums throughout the area. You can take a day trip and drive west to the Napa wine country. In the winter, you can enjoy hitting the many ski slopes in less than an hour.
